Concrete Curing

Curing of concrete in-site or with pre-cast concrete

The enhanced concrete curing in its many forms often brings with it additional concerns from engineers and specialists, and for good reason. The lack of control, monitoring and understanding of the curing process can lead to sub-standard performance of the material and therefore the final structure.

We cure concrete in 3 different ways:

  • Surface curing of concrete
  • Underside curing of concrete
  • Internally using sacrificial hoses

IDEAL’s system incorporates the most advanced monitoring system available today, constantly monitoring both temperature and RH within the concrete throughout the curing process.

Using the IDEAL remote management system, unique to IDEAL, the client can monitor the performance criteria of the curing process both on & off site.

With a simple connection to the Internet, graphs, charts and printouts of live-time data can be viewed and collected. A spread sheet covering the whole process from start to finish can be downloaded, indicating elements of the curing processes and giving all parties to the project confidence in IDEAL’s ability to perform to specification.

Advantages of Ideal Concrete Curing

The enhanced curing of concrete in-site or with pre-cast concrete has many advantages:

  1. Low temperature applications at 5 C or below
  2. Cost-saving benefits to the construction project, such as:
    • Early strength gain
    • Early release of shutters
    • Earlier load bearing capacity
    • Earlier post-tensioning
    • Enhanced use of site plant
    • Reduced downtime
    • Manpower savings
    • More effective operational planning & control
    • Earlier contract completion
    • Significant cost savings
