Cold Weather Payment
Britain’s rely on their Cold Weather Payments as the below-freezing temperatures experienced this winter refuse to budge.
The Government has introduced Cold Weather Payments to help eligible residents towards extra heating costs during very cold weather.
The payment scheme is bound to ease the concern of many British residents for whom cold conditions bring about added worry and hassle.
For this reason the payment scheme is heralded for its automatic imbursement system. A payment of £25.00 is paid automatically for each seven-day period of very cold weather between the 1st November to the 31st March. As long as a resident fulfils the conditions – set out on the Direct.Gov website - they will be paid.
Britain’s will not have to pay the allocated sum back, and as a regulated payment it is not subject to a budget.
The Cold Weather Payment will be rewarded when the average temperature in each post-code region is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below.
